Deb’s Rum Hut is a potential start-up business that could grow into something amazing— or possibly be nothing more than a mental exercise that occupied my mind and offered some fun diversion to other necessary tasks.

First I should admit that I like rum— and I like mixing rum drinks. What I don’t like is opening several ingredients to make one drink and having them all go bad before I’m ready to sit down again for that next drink.

My background was in manufacturing, specifically running bottling lines— and creating unit dose packaging that’s stable for an extended shelf life. This concept of a line of rum mixers crosses perfectly with my personal interests and my professional background— and if I have to sample a few in the process, how bad can it be?
