My Granddad had a shore place on the Severn River outside of Annapolis. My Dad had a shore place off of the Miles River outside of St. Michaels. So, I grew up on the water and around boats— And I swore I’d never own a shore property! They were too much work. They tied you to the same place for every get-a-way.
Then in 2017 our son died. Everything changed instantly. We needed a place to heal, and God gave us Spring Cove Point. It is literally a tide water sanctuary. A point of land facing north with sunrises over the water to the east, and sunsets over the water to the west. Open fields, and mature forests— places to wander, sit, or be still. A place to be busy, or a place to do nothing. A place to be alone, or a place to share with friends.
It was the place we needed.
